The Morris Public Library has resumed its curbside pickup service. Patrons will be able to pick up requested materials from the side door of the library between 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. Library Director Anne Barber explained the process on the KMRS Community Connection, which starts with patrons requesting items by calling the library or going online to morrispublib.org. The library will then let you know when the materials are ready for pickup.
“Once you get here between 2:00 and 4:00, you call us and let us know that you’re outside the building,” Barber detailed. “So there’s a one-way street on the book drop side that you’re going to pull up to. That’s where our side door is. You’re going to stay in your car, call us, we will come outside, put your bag of books on a table, give you a little wave and we’ll walk back inside. Then we ask that you wait in your car until we walk back inside. You get out, you pick up your book bag and then you’re on your way. Everything’s checked out to you already.”
Barber said the materials will come in a quarantine bag that should not be opened for three days. Materials will be checked out for eight weeks and can be returned to the library’s book drop without any bag.
