The Morris Public Library will hold its first virtual event 5 p.m. Friday on Facebook. Library Director Anne Barber told the KMRS Community Connection that she’s hoping to recreate the spirit of the Silent Book Clubs that the library has been running for some time.
“I’m going to create a Facebook event where people will check in and say what they’re reading and then we can kind of chat online about what all of us are reading,” said Barber. “And people will be able to share pictures of where they’re reading, what they’re eating and drinking while they’re reading. And otherwise, it will be just like a regular silent book club where we’ll be reading together — but silently and separately.”
The library resumed its curbside pickup service this week, where patrons will be able to pick up library materials from the library’s side door from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.
