With its biggest one day death toll since being hit with the novel coronavirus, Minnesota registered 17 deaths in the past 24 hours from COVID-19, bringing the total to 111 deaths. There have been 2,071 positive cases of the virus confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health, with 1,066 of those no longer needing isolation. Stearns County is up to 14 cases, while 14 counties in the state have yet to register a confirmed case, including Grant, Pope and Stevens. Over 43,000 tests have been completed, and 223 people are hospitalized today with the virus, 106 of those in the ICU. Some 21% of confirmed cases are travel related, 25% of cases are from those in a congregate living setting, and 18% are from community spread.
