Unsure of how to actually close a city park, Morris City Manager Blaine Hill told the KMRS Community Connection that most city parks will remain open, but they are encouraging people to stay off the playground equipment as they cannot guarantee its safety.

“You’re going to see some signs going up that say ‘The playground is closed until further notice due to COVID-19,'” said Hill. “So the advice is, don’t go play on them because they’re not sanitized, nobody’s wiping them down to make them safe for you. And there’s other things you can do — go for a walk, go for a bike ride — do some other things.”

Pomme de Terre Park is not open yet. City administrators have not yet determined whether to open the park’s campground, splash park and other facilities.
