Morris Fire Chief Matt Solemsaas reminded KMRS Community Connection listeners that no one is allowed to burn anything on their property without a permit.
“As it is every year, the state goes into a burning ban, ’cause things start to dry up,” said Solemsaas. “There’s a lot of dead vegetation. We get a lot of wind around here, as everybody knows. So, if you start a fire, you’re trying to burn some of that winter stuff off and it can get out of hand pretty quick.”
If you do have things that need to get burned, contact your local Sheriff’s Office to get a variance for that.
