Chokio-Alberta's Carter deNeui will attend St. Cloud State University.
Hancock School’s Gideon Joos will attend North Dakota State College of Science.

The Minnesota Telecom Alliance announced that they received 110 scholarship applications from across the state and two winning students are from the Stevens County area. Carter deNeui was selected to receive a $2,000 Information Technology scholarship and Gideon Joos will receive a $2,000 General Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year from the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation, according to Kevin Beyer, General Manager of Federated Telephone Cooperative.

Carter deNeui will be graduating from Chokio-Alberta High School and plans to attend St. Cloud State University. He is the son of Lucas and Maggie deNeui of Chokio. Gideon Joos is graduating from Hancock Public School and plans to attend North Dakota State College of Science. He is the son of Shane and Bridget Joos of Hancock. Beyer said “it makes us all proud at Federated Telephone when we have a statewide winner selected from our area.”

The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade organization based in St. Paul representing over 44 telephone companies and cooperatives in the state.
