Minnesota is among the top five states in the nation self-responding to the U.S. Census. The national self-response rate is 51 percent, while in Minnesota it is currently at 60.9 percent. Stevens County is one of the better in the state with a self-response rate of 62.7 percent. Other rates in our area include:

Douglas and Big Stone at 51.2 percent
Pope at 48 percent
Grant at 47.6 percent
Traverse at 44.3 percent.
The Census can still be filled out at 2020Census.gov. Government funds and congressional representation are all dependent on an accurate headcount for the county.
