While K-12 students are doing their Distance Learning, the preschool area of the Morris Area Elementary School building is still providing daycare services for essential workers. Morris Area Community Education Director Tony Reimers told the Morris School Board at their regular meeting on Monday that things have been going “pretty smooth.”
“It’s gone very well. Up until this week we were averaging 13 students per day,” said Reimers. “Today, we had a few more, we were at 17. And it looks like we’ll have maybe some more later this week. I don’t know with more people going back to work if they’re thinking they need school age care and that’s why it’s increasing or what their reason is for it right now. But we are seeing a little uptick in our registrations for this week.”
Reimers said it’s been helpful for planning purposes to have a two-week schedule for the service, as they have some special needs kids they are working with.
