As part of the renovation project of the Morris Area High School, some money had been set aside as the project went along for any unexpected surprises. At Monday’s meeting of the Morris School Board, board member and member of the Building Project Team Doug Stahman said the substantial sum of money in this contingency fund will help pay for a lot of smaller projects.
“One of the things that we’re going to transition into is a remaining pot of money that was left over from various different parts of the project,” said Stahman. “The committee is going to decide on 30 or 40 different projects. Those projects total over a million dollars, but we’re going to decide on those projects (and) where that remaining $600,000 goes.”
Stahman said there are no expected cost overruns with the bus garage project and the school will have up to a year to spend the money in the fund.
