The Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance Board of Directors has hired Lori Kurpiers as the Gallery Coordinator for Prairie Art and Gifts, its storefront on Atlantic Avenue in Morris. Kurpiers will be replacing Dawn Poore, who will be stepping down after several years. Kurpiers is a U of M Morris alum and Morris artist who works at the Stevens County Historical Society as the Office and Program Coordinator. As Gallery Coordinator, Kurpiers will be in charge of recruiting, training and scheduling artists and volunteers, overseeing general office operations and helping to plan, execute and promote PRCA events.

The PRCA also said in their newsletter to supporters that the success of their last fundraiser has kept the gallery and store afloat since they had to close five weeks ago, but that is not sustainable with no outlet to earn any money. The organization is looking at potentially months of lost revenue and urged supporters to renew their memberships and make donations if possible.
