With Governor Walz’s latest extension to Minnesota’s current Stay-at-Home Order to May 18, Pope County announced it will continue to provide critical services to its citizens and residents while this health emergency is in effect. All County employees are designated as “critical” workers by the County pursuant to the Governor’s Order, which means they will remain on duty and serving the people throughout this period.

Pope County buildings remain closed to the public until further notice. However, the County will continue to conduct regular business by means of phone, e-mail, and other electronic alternative means, rather than by in-person visits. To contact a particular County office, consult the County’s office directory by click on “County Departments” at the top of any Pope County webpage. You may also call (320) 634-7700 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office remains active 24/7, and can be contacted at (320) 634-5411 for non-emergencies. In the case of emergencies, continue to dial 911 for assistance.
