This week is National Hospital Week and Stevens Community Medical Center CEO John Rau told KMRS that current events have forced them to change the way they celebrate it this year.
“Traditionally, we’ve done some pretty exciting events at our facility for our own employees and for the public,” said Rau. “Certainly, as a result of some of the changes taking place in the state, we’ll have to postpone those to a future date. But I think it’s important to note that the theme for National Hospital Week this time around is ‘Celebrating Hope and Healing,’ which is exactly what it is we’re hoping is occurring over the United States right this minute.”
Rau said employees will be getting free meal vouchers and other perks. He said the hospital has taken all necessary provisions to safely provide elective surgical procedures to patients who have been waiting for emergency restrictions to be eased. The full one-hour of Hospital Week programming can be heard 1:10 p.m. Wednesday on KMRS.
