As part of an emergency management update for the Stevens County Board of Commissioners at their Tuesday morning meeting, Marcia Schroeder of Horizon Public Health said that “Point of Dispensing” plans have begun for the time when a vaccine for the new coronavirus is supplied. She also said efforts are underway to reach out to farm families and how to deal with the pandemic.
“We have developed a flyer specific for farming families and have contacted our USDA Farm Service Agency here in Morris, and they were very willing to put that out to all of the farm families in the county that they have contact with — which I understand is most of them,” said Schroeder.
Schroeder also said Horizon has been helping train staff at long term and assisted care facilities in how to properly put on and take off personal protective equipment. She said she was also pleased to learn that the Morris School District will comply with state guidance for its graduation ceremony.
