Republican State Representative Jeff Backer of Browns Valley said in a KMRS Legislator’s Corner program that will be broadcast this Sunday that Governor Walz’s lifting of the stay-at-home order beginning Monday is a step in the right direction. But he was disappointed with the requirement to not allow more than 50 percent of a business’ occupant capacity inside at any time, which he claimed could be tough for many small businesses, especially those in border communities.
“This district butts up to North Dakota and South Dakota,” Backer noted. “We have people who are going over the border for cutting their hair, for dining and stuff like that. It can be done wisely and prudently.”
The complete Legislator’s Corner interviews can be heard during the 1:00 p.m. hour this Sunday on KMRS.
