The Stevens County Historical Society and Museum announced they will be opening their doors on Tuesday, May 19, resuming regular hours and with increased safety measures. Museum Executive Director Cam Erickson told the KMRS Community Connection that a museum is a great place to visit without worrying too much about any viruses.
“This is a very safe place to come and do some viewing because, first of all, museums are typically not a place to be touching things anyway,” said Erickson. “Our exhibits are viewing only. And we have a nice space. The exhibits are minimum 20 feet apart. We don’t have too many door handles to sanitize between people coming in and out.”
Before the COVID-related guidelines shut down the museum, they had three exhibits ready for viewing. That has not changed. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
