Virtual medical visits are booming during this most recent pandemic. Director Karla Sundheim with their Behavioral Medicine department told KMRS that the trend definitely includes the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris.
“We have been doing all of our services over telemedicine or telephone for the past about month and a half,” said Sundheim. “So, we are on the screen with our clients instead of being in person, which is very helpful in being able to practice our social distancing but also being able to have the therapeutic needs met.”
Virtual health care interactions are on pace to top 1 billion nationally by year’s end, according to analysts at Forrester Research.
