Paving is complete on First Street in Starbuck. Until approximately the end of June, Highway 29 south will remain closed from the main intersection (Highway 28, 29, 114) to First Street. Regular in-town traffic should follow the detour route on Wollan Street and West First Street.

Stage 1 of the project has officially begun. All pavement was removed by Thursday from First Street to Sixth Street. Crews continue to work on water and storm sewer replacements on Highway 29 south. Although crews won’t be working Saturday through Monday, the road will remain closed. When they return on Tuesday, grading will begin on the south end of the work zone, moving north.

In some areas along Highway 29 south, the sidewalks have been removed. Alternative pedestrian routes are set up. Follow directional signs to safely cross the work zone.

A truck detour is set up to limit truck traffic in town. Trucks are being rerouted to County Road 1, County Road 18 and Highway 104. If you are expecting deliveries, communicate this with your vendors and keep them informed about how to best access your location.
