With the debate about houses of worship resuming regular services reaching the national stage, Minnesota State Representative Jeff Backer of Browns Valley told the KMRS Legislator’s Corner that he fully supports moves by the Catholic Church and the Missouri Synod to defy the governor’s order and open their doors – provided they follow current health guidelines.

“I’m really disappointed the governor says that churches are not an essential. You know, it is essential,” said Backer. “Spiritual health is as important as physical health. Studies show that spiritual health actually helps with physical health.”

The full interview with the Republican legislator can be heard during the 1:00 p.m. hour Sunday on KMRS.
