Stevens County has dropped back down to one confirmed case of COVID-19, after health officials completed their investigations. Stevens County Emergency Management Director Dona Greiner told the County Board of Commissioners at their meeting this morning that the National Guard was out last week in Morris to conduct testing for the virus. Some congregate care facilities in the region that have reported confirmed cases include Grand Arbor in Douglas County, St. Francis Home in Wilkin County, and Bethesda Grand and Glen Oaks Senior Living Campus, which are both in Kandiyohi County.
The Department of Health reported 310 new cases today, with 22 more deaths, bringing the total COVID fatalities to 1072. There are currently 537 people hospitalized with the virus, 248 of those in the ICU. Pope County has 9 cases, Swift has 19, Big Stone has 8, Douglas 44, and Traverse and Grant both have 4 cases. Greiner said she expects to see more confirmed cases in the region this week.
