Five people were injured in a two vehicle crash near Osakis on Saturday afternoon.
38-year-old Nancy Taft, of Browerville, was traveling east on I-94 in an Oldsmobile Silhouette and attempting to exit at the Osakis off ramp. She was stopped in the right lane waiting to merge due to other traffic when 71-year-old Timothy Grant Olson of Grundy Center, Iowa — towing a trailer in a Chevy Silverado — ran into her at an estimated 60 mph.
Taft, her passenger 49-year-old Glen Gerhart, of Browerville, Olson, and his passenger 66-year-old Robin Denise Olson were all taken to Alomere Health in Alexandria with non-life threatening injuries. 71-year-old Joseph A. Slabaugh, of Long Prairie, a passenger in the Taft vehicle had to be extricated by Osakis Fire Department and was flown from the scene by air ambulance. His condition is not known.
