The Stevens County Courthouse offices will be open to the public starting today.

County Coordinator Becky Young says they are taking the usual precautions…

“We’re putting markings on the floor for distancing, same things you see all over town, plexiglass (for) the public face encounters,” said Young. “We ask the public not to self-screen and not to come into the courthouse if they’ve been sick or been exposed to someone who’s been sick. Any of the services they need help with, we can generally help them online or via phone. So don’t come if you’re sick, please.”

Wearing a mask is being encouraged and hand sanitizer will be available at the door. All services are still available online as well.

Young adds they will be monitoring case counts and courts will be ramping up their case loads.

The Stevens County Courthouse summer hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Labor Day.
