While the rest of the Pomme de Terre Campground in Morris is open, Morris City Manager Blaine Hill told the KMRS Community Connection that its popular Splash Park remains closed due to coronavirus concerns.

“Unless the governor allows swimminig pools to open up to 100 percent capacity, we have no way to control the number of people that would come to the Splash Park and utilize it,” said Hill. “You can put up all the signs you wanted, but once the water starts flowing, people are gonna run in and use it. So that’s the one item that we probably don’t see opening.”

Hill said city administrators are still working on a preparation plan that would allow City Hall to be reopened to the public. The Stevens County Courthouse opened fully to the public on Monday, but Hill said that City Hall gets far less foot traffic from the public than the county offices.
