Tanya Fischer has been named the new principal for St. Mary’s Catholic School in Morris.
Fischer graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris in 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education and has been teaching for 18 years. She has been at St. Mary’s School for the past 10 years, teaching for eight years as the 1st Grade teacher and two years as the 4th grade teacher. Fischer received her Master in Education with an emphasis on Teaching, Learning and Leadership in 2018 from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
She is married to Josh Fischer and has three children. Fischer is a member of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and is also a member of the Church choir, Morris Women of Today and the Red River Valley Emerging Leadership Program.
