After a year of planning and working with the City of Morris, the University of Minnesota Morris, the Stevens County Historical Society and Museum, Stevens Soil and Water Conservation District, the Pomme de Terre River Association, and Clean Up the River Environment, a project titled “We Are Water” will be exhibited from August 21 through October 19 in the art gallery at the U of M Morris in the Humanities Fine Arts building. Judy Johnston of Stevens Soil and Water Conservation District told the KMRS Community Connection that the project is funded by the Minnesota Humanities Center from Clean Water Legacy dollars.
“We’re happy to announce that, as far as we know, it’s going to be live. It’s going to be there,” said Johnston. “And it’s ‘We Are Water’ and it focuses on all types, all our watersheds in this area and just talking a lot about taking care of our lakes and our rivers.”
Johnston said the exhibit will also focus on people in the area and what water means to them. She is hoping school groups from the region will tour the exhibit.
