ELROSA – Luke VanBeck tossed a complete game shutout while collecting two hits at the plate for Elrosa in a 2-0 defeat of Starbuck.


Friday, July 10

Dumont 9, Morris 5
MORRIS – Dumont erased a five-run deficit scoring nine unanswered in a 9-5 victory over Morris in Land O’ Ducks League action from Chizek Field on Friday night.
Kirby Marquardt opened the scoring with solo home run in the second inning. The Eagles extended their lead when Mac Beyer launched a bases-clearing double to left-center in the third and Eagles added another for a 5-0 lead after three innings.
Dumont was able to push two runs across in the fifth before Matt Thielen’s bases-clearing double gave the Saints a 6-5 lead to highlight a six-run sixth.
Thielen earned the win on the hill tossing seven innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Mason Lampe recorded the last six outs for the save.
Thielen finished 2-5 with three RBI’s and run at the plate, Lampe went 3-5 with a double, RBI and run scored, Cam Maudal was 3-4 with a double, an RBI, sacrifice and run scored.
Bryce Jergenson suffered the loss for the Eagles, tossing nine innings and allowing nine runs (six earned) on 14 hits, two walks and five strikeouts. At the plate Jergenson was 2-5 with a run. With the win the Saints are 3-1 in league play, dropping the Eagles to 2-2.

Hancock 2, Madison 1
MADISON – Preston Rohloff tossed six strong innings and Chad Christianson picked up the save for Hancock in a 2-1 defeat of Madison. The Orphans are 1-2, the Mallards fall to 1-1.

Elrosa 10, Roscoe 6
ROSCOE – Jackson Peter went 4-4 with a double to lead the Saints past Roscoe.

HANCOCK – Collin Brown tossed a complete game to help Hancock earn a 3-2 victory on Appleton on Saturday.

Sunday, July 12

Chokio 8, Rosen 5
ROSEN – Eric Schwagel hit a game-tying two-run double late and Chokio was able to pull ahead of Rosen late for a 8-5 victory on Sunday. Chandler Erickson tossed a complete game for the win.

Clinton 9, Morris 7
CLINTON – Sam Adelman tossed eight innings, Zak Adelman picked up the save and Clinton hung on to defeat Morris 9-7 on Sunday.

Saturday, July 11

Morris 10, Kensington 0
MORRIS – The Morris Brewers won their third straight game to start the season with a 10-0 win over Kensington at Chizek Field on Saturday in Morris.
Curt Schake received the win pitching three hitless innings and two strike outs. Rob Nigg and Brian Giese completed the shutout pitching two innings each.
Brewer hitting was led by the top of the order with Mike Kill going 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Brian Giese went 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Brandon Lennox and Scott Mattocks each added a pair of hits two RBI’s.
The Brewers next games are scheduled as a double header in Alexandria on August 2nd.
