Tri-Town 6, Morris 4
MORRIS – Tri-Town plated two runs in the seventh inning to earn a 6-4 victory over Morris in 16U baseball from Chizek Field in Morris.

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ross Marty delivered a pinch-hit two-run single with two outs giving Morris a 4-3 lead after five.

Tri-Town answered with a game-tying run in the sixth, then Isaiah Renne delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh.

Morris committed five errors in the game, giving Tri-Town four unearned runs in all.

Durgin Decker went 2-3 for Morris, Sam Kleinwolterink had an RBI.

Brenden Hardy took a no-decision after tossing five innings, allowing three unearned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts. Brett Hansen took the loss in relief, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits. Morris is 2-4 on the season.

Jack Peterson tossed four innings of two-run ball for Tri-Town, Zach Bagley earned the win in relief, giving up two runs over three innings. Tri-Town is 3-2.


Tri-Town 10, Morris 2
MORRIS – Morris committed seven errors and fell apart late in a 10-2 loss to Tri-Town in 18U baseball from Chizek Field Thursday night.

Jack Riley’s RBI triple in the fifth pulled Morris within two runs of Tri-Town going into the sixth, but the defense made six errors over the final two frames as the game got out of hand.

Zach Bruns suffered the loss for Morris, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits, walking five and striking out eight. Tristan Raths tossed 1.1 innings of relief.

Riley and Bruns each had two hits with an RBI for Morris who fell to 2-2.

Josh Kinzler earned the win for Tri-Town, giving up two runs on five hits, with a walk and five strikeouts over six innings. Josh Kingery struck out three in the seventh to close it out.

Kingery was 2-3 with an RBI, a double and two runs at the plate, Kinzler scored three times and Tri-Town improved to 5-0.
