Stevens County Coordinator Rebecca Young expressed frustration on the KMRS Community Connection that the State Legislature could not get enough work done before the Special Session began to get a public works bonding bill passed.
“It’s disappointing the way this session went, on both sides of the aisle,” said Young. “We had some hope to see a bonding bill passed because it had support for the bonding for the regional recycling and organics facility that we’re hoping to get a grant for.”
Young said she is still hopeful a bonding bill will still get passed either during another Special Session next month or later this year. She said it’s not too late to get going on the regional recycling and organics facility next year if a bonding bill can get passed.
