The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is moving most fall sports to the spring season due to the coronavirus pandemic. MIAC commissioner Dan McKane said Monday that the league would have an announcement scheduled for 1 p.m. today, regarding the upcoming fall sports season.
Tennis and golf would be the only two MIAC sports that would have the option of playing in the fall. Earlier this month, the MIAC decided to cancel all nonconference game for fall sports.
That preceded the expected decision to move fall sports to the spring.
The NCAA DIII Management Council approved a proposal July 21 that allows schools the flexibility to move fall sports competition into the spring for the upcoming school year.
