Integrating grazing animals and forest management, or silvopasture, can be beneficial both for environmental conservation and as a farm income generator. Learn the principals of this managed intensive grazing system and hear from farmers utilizing these principles as the Sustainable Farming Association hosts three distinct Silvopasture Field Training workshops this August.

The first date is 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday (August 6) at Snake River Farm in Becker. The second will be 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 11 at Sunup Ranch in Brainerd; with the third being 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 13 at the Tom Hunter farm in Wabasha.

These events will take place outside with social distancing guidelines in effect; space is limited to 20 people per site due to Minnesota COVID-19 guidelines. Preregistration is required, free for current SFA members and $40 for nonmembers; scholarships are available for agricultural professionals. Register and learn more at www.sfa-mn.org/soil.
