The final free food distribution of the summer will be held today at the National Guard Armory, 722 Iowa Avenue in Morris with registration beginning 3 p.m. Those who come are being asked to stay in their vehicle. Volunteer Nick Milbrandt told KMRS that even the registration process will be done from the person’s vehicle.
“Once they’re registered, they are going to be able to pull forward, and we’ll have a group of people that’ll load the stuff right in their vehicle for them,” said Milbrandt. “And then the Armory opens their gates in the back there where they have their…parking bay for their vehicles if they’re in town. So, that’ll be open and they’ll be able to drive right out the back side and be on their way.”
Those without a vehicle may send a friend or family member to pick up food on their behalf. Anyone who eats is eligible for the food distribution.
