Pianist Kenny Broberg will be featured in two upcoming Lakes Area Music Festival concerts.

Following a weekend of three virtual concerts, the 12th annual Lakes Area Music Festival moves into its second week of performances, featuring four main events, all free to the public. This season is broadcasting worldwide from Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd, and viewers around the globe have the first chance to see these performances via Facebook Live.

It begins 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a program titled “Imagining America,” featuring British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Nonet for strings, winds and piano, and Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Quintet featuring Van Cliburn and Tchaikovsky competition prize-winner Kenny Broberg on piano.

The 7:30 p.m. Friday concert will present “City of Angels,” which will have Hollywood connections and feature works by movie composers Erich Korngold, Philip Glass and Ennio Morricone, also with pianist Kenny Broberg.
