MORRIS – West River Seed is the 2020 MACE Softball champions following an 8-1 defeat of Wagner Co. from Wells South on Wednesday night in Morris.

Haley Kill’s bases-clearing triple in the second gave West River Seed a 6-0 lead after two innings, she added a two-run home run in the fifth to finish with five RBI’s on the night.

In the circle Kill pitched three innings of one hit ball and striking out seven.

Brenna Jergenson had an RBI with three runs scored, Peyton Ehrp and Mari Devries each had an RBI. Aurora Nemmers pitched two innings, allowing a run on a hit and struck out five.

Mae Hawks had a hit and run scored for Wagner. Nora Boyle tossed three innings, giving up three runs on five hits with four strikeouts. Emily Kellen pitched two innings and collected a hit at the plate.

West River Seed was coached by Mike Kill and Rob Jergenson. Jeff Boyle was the head coach for Wagner Co.
