Work on Stage 2 construction continues in Starbuck. The underground work is done, curbs are in and sidewalk installation is underway. Paving is scheduled to start Saturday and will wrap up Monday, weather permitting. Next week, crews will also start seeding and will install the foundation for new street lights. Residents may notice the grass getting taller where sod was planted along Highway 29 south. Nearby property owners have been notified not to mow until September 1 to allow the roots of the grass to get established.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 28 is being detoured to Holly Ridge Drive to Sixth Street. John Street will become the official detour when work at the Highway 28/John Street intersection is completed. Westbound traffic is being directed back to Highway 28 using Roiland Street from Sixth Street. This detour may change as paving is completed. North and southbound traffic on Highway 114 and Highway 29 are being detoured to Sixth Street, Abercrombie Street and East Eighth Street.
The completion of Stage 2 work means Stage 3a and 3b could begin the week of August 31.
