The Morris and Southwest Prairie Solar Co-op has formed to help interested residents and businesses increase their solar energy usage and they are set to hold their first informational webinar 7 p.m. Wednesday. Solar United Neighbors State Director Bobby King told the KMRS Early Morning Show that a similar co-operative venture was formed in Kandiyohi County, although this is not a “co-op” in the legal sense.
“The Co-op is not really a legal co-op. It’s just people joining together to tap into the expertise here at Solar United Neighbors and to get competitive bids as a group from installers in the state,” King explained. “Going solar can be daunting, and this process is to help educate people and make it easier, mutual support — and to get the best price we can on going solar.”
