MORRIS – There will be baseball this fall in the Morris area.

A Fall Independent baseball league has been created by the Morris Area Community Ed featuring six teams to begin on Tuesday, September 1st.

Teams included are Morris Area, Hancock, Minnewaska Area, Benson, Montevideo, and Lac qui Parle Valley.

Each team will have an eight-game regular season schedule, with all games being played in Morris at Chizek Field and Rambow Field. Some games could be played elsewhere if scheduling issues arise.

Following the regular season will be a single-elimination postseason tournament, with the top two seeds earning a first-round bye.

Games will be played at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm each Tuesday and Thursday with the championship set for October 8th.

The Independent League has no affiliation with the Minnesota State High School League, therefore no varsity coaches can have inclusion.

Head coach of the Morris Area team will be Rob Jergenson, Chad Rohloff will lead the Hancock squad.
