Courtney Wait is scheduled to be sentenced 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 31st in Stevens County District Court after pleading guilty in June to a felony charge of offering a forged check. She also pled guilty to a similar crime in Traverse County. In June, she appeared in court and sentenced on felony 5th degree controlled substance charges. She was placed on probation at that time for 5 years.

Listeners may recall Wait’s ongoing case, which earlier involved the assistance of her boyfriend and a former Morris pastor passing along a forged Pope County letter supposedly signed by Judge Charles Glasrud that was used to spring Wait out of a Louisiana prison and allowed her to flee to Texas, where she was picked up by a bounty hunter.

With a presumptive stayed prison sentence handed down this summer, Wait was given the opportunity to go on probation and not go to prison right away. Wait had already served a number of months in prison before these latest proceedings.
