The Pope and Swift County Farm Bureaus will be hosting the popular Breakfast on the Farm event from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday, Labor Day, at the Pope County Fairgrounds in Glenwood. Jim Wulf with the Pope County Farm Bureau told KMRS that this year they are planning for 1,200 people to come through for the free steak and eggs breakfast – and to learn a little something about agriculture.
“As they proceed through with their vehicle, then we will have a building there where we will have a takeout breakfast in a takeout container,” said Wulf. “So, the number of people that are in your vehicle, that is the number of meals that we will bring you. We do not want people just coming to get meals and taking them home. You need to come to the Fairgrounds to get a meal. There’s not a carryout option. If you come and learn about agriculture, you deserve a meal.”
Besides the food, there will be livestock on display, sheep shearing demonstrations, and machinery implement dealer demonstrations to learn about farm equipment.
