MORRIS FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE
Morris 3, Minnewaska 2
MORRIS – Zach Bruns tossed a complete game and Tristan Raths collected the game-winning hit with a two-out RBI double in the sixth for Morris in a 3-2 victory over Minnewaska in Fall League action from Chizek Field on Thursday.
Tied 2-2 with two-outs and Dylan Rose standing on third, Raths doubled to right field putting Morris ahead to stay in a seesaw battle.
Minnewaska stuck first when a balk by Bruns allowed a run to score in the top of the third, Morris answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half, highlighted by Durgin Decker’s RBI double. Minnewaska then tied the game in fourth on a double steal with runners at the corners.
Bruns earned the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits, five walks, and nine strikeouts.
At the plate he went 2-3 with a run, Raths finished 2-3 with an RBI and Morris moved to 3-1 in league play.
Darion Alexander suffered the loss for Minnewaska, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts.
Alexander and Torii Johnson each had a hit and run scored, Josh Mogard drew two walks as Minnewaska fell to 3-1.
Hancock 7, Madison 2
MORRIS – Kody Berget stuck out 11 in a complete game effort while driving in two runs at the plate to lead Hancock past Madison 7-2.
Berget gave up two unearned runs on five hits and three walks for the win. At the plate he went 2-3 with two RBI’s and a run.
Davan Rose, Devan Schroeder and Adam Shaw each had a hit with Rose knocking in three runs for Hancock who is 2-2. Madison falls to 2-2.
