EAGAN, Minn. —Pat Elflein has been placed on Injured Reserve, the Vikings announced Thursday ahead of Minnesota’s Week 2 game at Indianapolis.

Elflein played all 52 offensive snaps at right guard in Week 1. He switched to that position in the offseason after playing left guard in 2019, and center in 2017 and 2018.

A third-round pick in 2017, Elflein has played in 44 career games with 43 starts in his four seasons as a Viking.

Elflein has to miss a minimum of three weeks before he is eligible to return in Minnesota’s Week 5 road game against Seattle.

Minnesota had four different starting offensive line combinations during the 2019 season and will be on its second in as many weeks Sunday.
