Eugenie L. Boese, age 95 of Holloway, Minnesota, passed away at her home on Wednesday September 30, 2020.
Visitation for Eugenie Boese will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holloway, MN.
Funeral service for Eugenie Boese will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holloway, MN.
Interment will follow the service at the Church Cemetery.
Eugenie Boese was born on May 13, 1925, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Walter and Olga Kroening Walther. She was baptized on June 1, 1925, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eagan, MN, and was confirmed on May 28, 1939, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rabbit Lake, MN. She attended K-5 elementary school in Minneapolis, 5-8 in Iron Hub Country School, graduated from Aitkin High School, and attended teacher’s training in Madison, MN.
Eugenie was united in marriage to Leo V. Boese on December 30, 1945, in Holloway, MN. They spent their lives together on the family farm north of Holloway where she and her husband raised their five children.
Eugenie served as the church organist for over 16 years at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Holloway, where she also was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Ladies’ Aide. She was a quilter of over 25 beautiful quilts and she made banners for the church. She loved to craft wall hangings for her home and for her family.
She is survived by her children: Steven (Carmen) Boese of Laramie, Wyoming, Nancy (Steven) Oman of Dover, New Hampshire, Connie Boese of Laramie, WY, and Peter (Betty) Boese of Holloway, MN; grandchildren: Benjamin, Katarina (Mark), Karin (Todd), Laura (Brian), Jacque (James), Eric (Camille) and Kimberly (Jonathan); great grandchildren: C. J., Melania, Naomi, Eleanor, James, Evelyn, Liam, Reid, Kaylee, and Gemma; brother: Howard (Elaine) Walther of Wadena, MN; and several other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Olga; her husband: Leo; son: Terry Boese; and great granddaughter: Eden Rose Quast.
