U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development state director for Minnesota Brad Finstad announced that USDA is investing $50,000 for essential maintenance equipment in the city of Hoffman.
“Efficient city maintenance in rural small towns contributes to the greater prosperity of a community,” Finstad said. “It’s clearing the streets of snow in the winter for people to get back and forth to work safely; it’s having the equipment to clean up fallen debris after a storm.”
The city of Hoffman will use a $50,000 Community Facilities Grant to purchase a new front-end loader machine. The city’s existing machine was purchased in 1996 and is beyond useful life, requiring regular costly maintenance. This project will help purchase a new machine that allow city staff the ability to continue providing efficient city maintenance.
