Minnewaska Area 3, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 2
MORRIS – Facing match-point twice, the Minnewaska Area Lakers were able to comeback and earn a five-set victory over Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on Thursday from the Tiger Center.

The Lakers earn a season sweep of the Tigers with a 25-12, 16-25, 25-23, 22-25, 17-15 victory. The Tigers led the fifth set 14-13 and 15-14 but were unable to put the Lakers away.

After two lopsided games, the Lakers erased a seven-point deficit to take the third set. The Tigers got payback when they erased an early six-point deficit to take the fourth set.

Tigers senior LaRae Kramm tallied her 1,000th career set assist, finishing with 40 on the night. Sophia Carlsen led with 18 kills, Brianna Marty had 13 while Emma Bowman chipped in eight for the Tigers who are 5-6.

Brecklyn Beyer had 18 kills, MaKena Panitzke had eight for the Lakers.

Britta Nelson had 13 assists, Rylee Metz had 12 with five aces while Haley Shea added 11 assists.

Panitzke tallied 25 digs while Avery Hoeper and Avery Fier each had 17, Kristin Glover added 16. The Lakers are now 6-5.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 3, West Central Area 1
WHEATON – Wheaton/Herman-Norcross outlasted West Central Area in four-sets on Thursday, 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 25-23.

Both teams played great defense which made for some long and exciting rallies with the Warriors making a few more plays for the win.

Three Knights had nine kills with Morgan Stark, Liz Rustan and Mya Foslien. Kaitlyn Hansen tallied 28 digs, Stark had 21 and Macy Grosz added 20 with 13 assists as the Knights fall to

The Knights are 5-7 while the Warriors improve to 5-6.

Brandon-Evansville 3, Parkers Prairie 0
PARKERS PRAIRIE – Brandon-Evansville got stronger as their match went on and earned a sweep of Parkers Prairie 25-23, 25-19, 25-14.

Strong serving anchored the Chargers led by another solid performance at the line from Taylor Yeats who was 17-17.

Bailey Schaefer had a double/double with 15 kills and 10 digs, Mikenna Pattrin had 10 kills, Grace Otto had 11 digs, while Korrie Randt racked up 28 assists. The Chargers are 9-2 while the Panthers fall to 7-4.
